Re: New Barbolights: T-04 and T-15. MORE PICS!!!

Javier:
Any idea of the time frame in which these bad boys will be available? Actually have some spare cash right now, would love to get a T-15 in my hands before my wife finds another (albeit probably more practical) use for the cash... Also, maybe some idea of what the "private pricing" will be, pleez???
gg

Cool lights.

Can't wait to see the CPF pricing.

T-15 looks like a killer.

Re: New Barbolights: T-04 and T-15. MORE PICS!!!

hello javier
I have a couple of questions about the T-15

1) Is this direct drive or regulated?
2) Does 2 x 18500 produce the same output as 3 x CR123?
3) Any plans for a 2 x 18650 version like the U-15?
4) Runtime?

Thanks

Hello again Javier :)

I realise I probably scared you off with all those questions :ohgeez: Oh well might as well ask some more! OK here we go...

I just found your post about the b-04 using the edison LED and that runs off 3 AA (in series?) This surely offers the space and ability for an adaptor to run 1x AW C size li-ion? 3.7v 3300mAh

Then looking at the website (I don't read Spanish), I discover the B-15 which I assume is a teaser since it links to the U-15 page. Pure speculation here but I'm guessing B-15 runs 4x edison LEDs and uses 6xAA and is also therefore capable of running 2 x Li-ion C size?

Am I close???

If so then, Oh boy! oh boy! oh boy! I have to go to the bathroom!

Oh yeah I forgot to say great work there, I very interested to buy some kind of furture Barbolight.

Not scared of questions, just was away.

T-15 is DD, resistored down. Highest efficiency, highest reliability.
Runtime is 65 min to 70% initial output. Li-ION and CR123 is very similar.
T-15 is a U-15 using 18500, so if you want a T-15 with 18650 U-15 is the solution.

B-04 and B-15 can acommodate C size Li-IONs.

Regards,

Javier

Cool thanks for answering my questions :)

Does this mean the U-15 will have it's LEDs upgraded from Luxeon III to Edison?

I have the U-15 and like it very much for its brightness and thought my wallet was safe for a while. Damn! Seeing those pics makes me drool again, I NEED the T-15.
Is the B-15 the same brightness as the T-15?

Dear qip

Some design characteristics you can see on Elektrolumens QSP lights can be found on our first U-09. For example the oversized tailcap, that makes more balanced the look of the light, and more confortable to handle, or some others. I think Wayne was the first one using a multi Luxeon head.

Take a look at the pictures.

Our firsts U-09 are dated from october 2004, as the one on the upper picture.

Anycase as we are all reading the same forum wactching the same pics and talking about same lights... It is very difficult to be original. I suppose I have copied some of the CPF'ers, and some of them have copied me, even unconsciously

I have very good relationships with Wayne, BTW.

Lexus,

I'm glad you enjoyed our U-15. it is one of our most succesful lights.

Regarding B-15 unfortunately their alkies can not stand a 850-900 mA discharge, and it is not as bright as U-15 '2007 or T-15.

Soon we will be offering a upgrading for existing U-15's.

Regards,
Javier

The QuadStar Phazer is a much bigger light. And I don't think it's dive-rated like the Barbolight.

What's the brightness of the b-15 like with Nimh AA? These should be able to handle the 900mA discharge.

It should, but is resistored down. If you plan to use it mainly with NiMH let us know and we can make one with smaller value.
If we start too strong on a flashlight that is intended to be used with alkies we won't get decent runtime for a nightdive.

Javier
