Howdy folks,

My supervisor charged me with purchasing new rechargeable Li Ion LED flashlights to be used in making rounds of our facilities. I would like to find something in the 200+ lumen range and have $250 to spend per light. I have done some research and of course there are many options, yet most seem to use separate batteries and chargers. I need one with a charging dock or at the very least the ability to charge the flashlight via a plug-in pigtail, since many different people need to use these lights at a moments notice. So far all I have been able to find are the large name brands like Streamlight, Inova and Pelican. I figure there are more options out there and I was hoping that someone might be able to point me in the direction of a real winner. Thanks in advance for the advice!

First off - Welcome to CPF. If you're going to find the answers to your questions... this is the place. Lots of great knowledge here.
I have used the Inova T4 light with cradle. It is very durable and reliable. I sold it to someone who works for the US Forest Service. He loves it and uses it alot.

I believe that a lot of the Sunlite models have charging jacks. Although jacks probably aren't as easy to use as cradles, they are still easier to use than separate batteries and chargers.

Guys,

Thanks so much for the suggestions. Yeah, from what I have been able to find so far, the Inova seems to be the best of the "mainstream" bunch. I'll have to check out the Sunlites. A jack would be fine, and separate batteries would also be fine if I were the only one using it, but we don't want to get into situations where the batteries are always left in a discharged state. Thanks again!

Wow,

The Sunlite products are exactly what I am looking for. Now the hard part is trying to decide which model to get, or build for that matter. I like the modular design of their lights. I guess for me it all comes down to head size from here. I don't know if I really need a large head 500+ lumens, or whether their medium-sized 300, or even pocket-sized 220 lumen light would suffice. I'm sure all of them will be far superior to the Mag and Streamlight incandescents we've been using forever. I sure wish I could test them. Thanks again for the info. I knew somebody here would be able to point me in the right direction. Cheers!

Another recommendation for the Inova T4. I mounted the cradle on the wall and it's very convenient. Drop light in any time to top it up, remove and use. It's safe to leave the light on the cradle to store it while not in use according to the manual. Very bright and robust too.

Inova T4, hands down. The Streamlight Strion and the Pelicans are very good too. Can't really go wrong with any of them.
