without having to order online? I live in central NC.
Thanks,

Only place I can think that might have them around here (Apex) is a Batteries Plus store. Not even sure if the one near here still exists.

You can buy RCR123 cells from RadioShack. But they don't seem very high-quality. Stick with AW brand cells.

frys electronics here in CA has them last I looked. Not sure if you have a Frys in your area.

The Batteries Plus here carries one brand only. I don't even know what they are. Order online. It's cheaper and you get better batteries. They won't carry any of the other Li-ion type batteries. They're afraid of what we might do with them.:)

That depends on the location and the size of the Radio Shack. I was amazed to learn that the small Radio Shack store near me doesn't even carry lithium AAA's! and they were 'out' of NIMH rechargeable AAA's... :sigh:

x2, my local rat shack sells them bundled with a charger for $40 (IIRC).
Stores like lighthound and batteryspace have great CS and very fast shipping, so they are the next best thing to B&M.

The capacity on the RadioShack cells is far from impressive. They're clearly made for use in cameras instead of flashlights. But in a pinch, should suffice until an order from Lighthound arrives on the doorstep.

You've been here over a year, and I would have thought you ought to know by now that we have a Batteries sub-forum for questions of this type. I'm moving your thread there.

No problem.

early in my flashaholism, i went to a batteries plus and was about to buy some rcr123's with a charger when the guy asked what I intended to use them for. of coarse I told him and he promptly said that they where NOT to be used in high powered flashlights and even pointed out the warning on the back of the package that said so. im not sure what that was all about.
