colossus head HID?

hi everybody, i am am new to this so sorry if i ask stupid queastions. i was wondering what HID build i could do in a maglite, currently i have a tribored 3 d host and a 4 d non tribored host, also i have a colossus head so bulb length should not be an issue. thanks

It's not the bulb but the ballast, only 10 watt ballasts fit in mags. Bulb doesn't matter much at all.

IIRC you can fit a 14W bulb / ballst in a mag. Either way though. It's going to be EXPENSIVE. Your much better off buying a HID ~$200 then trying to make a little 14W for $250+

iirc, even the mag has to be machined to fit the Solarc. So nothing HID will drop in one.

Plus there is a limit on the bore size of reflector.

If you aren't in a hurry I'm researching out a 32 watt hid system for the colossus. The ballast will have to be custom built but the bulb system I have seen would be perfect for the head. You may want to get something else in the meantime as this is an ongoing project.
