Placed an order to upgrade my V2. The beamshots on Dereelight site looks bright.

What does the M behind MC-E means?

Wow, I wasn't aware Dereelight was releasing a MC-E so soon. I'm out of the loop. :)

I didn't see beamshots for the MC-E. I'd like to see a MC-E pill for the CL1H, even if it runs at a lower current than the DBS version.

Update: I contacted Alan about a MC-E for the CL1H to see what he has to say. I was really hoping the MC-E would be available for the CL1H after receiving a P7 proto-type from Dereelight for my CL1H/DBS. Everyone that sees my CL1H V4 with the P7 loves it. At PF11 someone there said out of all the lights at PF11 they saw, they were most impressed with the CL1H V4 with the P7. I think they loved the bright floody light coming out of it, along with the quality of the CL1H. Another friend of mine who has seen the CL1H V4 with a P7 wanted to order one just like it.

Wade,

Check the DBS info page; it's the small beam shots at the top. Click on each one and you'll see the red lettering.

What's a PF11?

There's a P7 CL1H in existence?!

I've been out of the loop for a while, so sorry if this is a daft question, but will the MC-E give more throw, more flood, or both? Either way, I've been thinking about a DBS for a while, this might just be the straw that broke the camel's back...

Well, check the beam shots posted on the Dereelight website. It's looking as if the MC-E walks all over the R2, but at what kind of runtime is anyone's guess. Also, you can't use a single 18650, like with a Q5 or R2 pill.

The MC-E won't out throw a Cree XR-E, but it will have more total lumens in a more floody beam.

P7 in Dereelight CL1H V4. The P7 pill is direct drive only, so output drops as the 18650's voltage drops. I wish it was regulated and driven even harder, but I often run it on low which makes a great walking light and should have long run time:

I'd like to see MC-E with SMO reflector:devil: (I don't care about artifacts).

I always thought the pills from the CL1H and the DBS were interchangable? Maybe the MC-E pills work in the CL1H as well (suggesting that it's wired parallel)???

I thought PF11 was Police Force 11. Did not know it was so serious:twothumbs.

If the MC-E won't outthrow an XR-E, then I have to acquire another DBS instead of just the pill. I'll see if the flood can light up the target better without the hotspot of a thrower.

The DBS has been an excellent light and thrower and I have never look back buying it. Ever since I have been looking for another that will outperform it but haven't been able to (led, no hid).

The beam shots seems to flood and also light up the centre better (without a hotspot) than the R2.

Anyway, SEEMS like Dereelight is keeping the one-up on led throwers.

I imagine the MC-E benefits from the considerably more mass of the DBS reflector for heat sinking.

It's times like this that the modularity of the Dereelights really pays off.

Wonder what Alan means when he says the MC-E pill only works with the OP reflector. Is it just an uneven beam with the SMO one?

WadeF: I cannot believe I missed this light at PF11. :sigh: We need a system to let everyone know what lights are there to see!:twothumbs

Make sure I show it to you at PF12. :)

When I get my MC-E I'll try it with the DBS smooth reflector to see what it looks like, as well as the CL1H.

DBS is a thrower, MC-E and P7 are floody....why would you turn your wonderful thrower into a floody mess? someone please correct me on this one...please because i would like to think that a MC-E or other quad die led can throw but it just seems implausible to me
