In fairness, if the dog doesn't like you then you might want to revisit some life choices...

im a dog person way more then a cat person a good dog is almost needed in today's world, dad told me when he was in vietnam they found a puppy who would help in guard duty..dogs just always earn there keep. its almost as if they known whats needed and they do it .from being a friend to being a friend and guard dog etc etc

Imo, puppies smell better than kittens. In fact I kinda enjoy puppy aroma vs kitty stink.. just sayin..

also they need soooooo much active time to keep them in line, like collies, if you don't tire them out during the day they'll ruin your furniture

Onyx (rip) a couple of days after the bionic knee was installed about 10 years ago. Half lab, half grayhound, his bark sounded like a wounded seal, but he was the happiest dog I ever had the pleasure of being his buddy. His first 7 months on earth were not good so when he arrived he was nuts. They say chocolate kills dogs, but Onyx ate an entire bag of Hershey's miniatures, wrapper, and bag. Later a box of chocolate pop tart went missing until the foil wrappers showed up in his turds. He ate a frisbee, a wash cloth, who knows how many twigs, charcoal briquets, cigarette butts, dandelions and other stuff. He'd play dead, pushed a shopping cart, could play the shell game and read flash cards with simple math problems like if it said 2+2 he'd bark 4 times. His favorite time of day was mealtime so when he stopped eating we knew he was sick. Arthrritis in his back and a bad pacreas led to his demise. But for 12 years we were blessed with what we called "our de-bleeted goat".

i miss volunteering at the dog shelter well i miss the dogs not the humans. i was good at it all the dogs liked me even the fearful dogs would come to me. i find ignoring them makes them trust you let them come to you s if you cant see them then give them positive reinforcement

My not so little anymore little buddy Tralfaz got a big boy collar today.
Size medium adjusted as small as it can be. $8 from the petsmart clearance rack.
In June he was 6 pounds. He's 25 pounds now.

His sister Yuki (pronounced yoo-kee) is now 30 pounds. I excersize her while my son is at work and am teaching her to speak and to catch a frisbee.

Ginger was awesome, but time took its toll during the covid period and she's in a better place now. She was a pug-lador-beagle.

Onyx back when we did home rehab after he got a bionic knee. I built the ramp to walk him a few laps up and down every day. Mrs Fixer wanted to help. He loved his ramp and was walking on all four legs after a couple of weeks. At the end of his life his back half gave out so he too is in now a better place.

He did not dig the collar but was a good sport about it. He was part black lab, part grayhound (and part goat we think, 'cause he sure did eat some crazy stuff sometimes).

Fex Raspberry is almost finished with her seasonal shed, hence the light fur on the back end.

Yesterday while having an afternoon snack of a banana and small box of raisins, I ate the banana first. The box of raisins was on a sofa cushion beside me. I get up to toss the banana peel in the trash and Tralfaz who was sitting across the room suddenly bolts across the room, grabs the box of raisins and bolts through the doggy door.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO" I hollered out. Before I could get out of the door after him he had ripped open the box and was vacuuming up those little shriveled up grapes. "Oh no I've murdered my puppy" I thought. But 24 hours later he has not shown any signs of being sick. He ate about 10 or so raisins before I could stop him.

Please, please, please, don't let grapes or raisins within reach of your dog. They love to gobble them up but apparently they can be fatal.

Hopefully footballs aren't bad for dogs too
