hi everyone, i'm very new to here :)
i've bought a E2DL Defender, are there any drop in module with higher lumen output ( greater than 120 lumens) suitable for this model? thx so much!!

I don't think there are any drop-ins but OpticsHQ sells a replacement head or you can send the E2DL head to Milky for an upgrade.

The head can be opened and modified, but it's not as simple as replacing a drop-in module in the bigger Surefires. There are list members who can mod it for you (Milkyspit, for example).

You can also replace the head, but I don't know how much brighter the readily available replacements are (Surefire underrates their "lumens" specs relative to most other manufacturers). OpticsHQ makes a direct replacement (I think a few reviews have been posted). There are lots of custom options as well.

With a few extra pieces - bezel from a 6P or 6PD, and an E2C adapter (available from a few different sources) - you can use any of the drop-ins intended for the bigger Surefires. But, you end up with a bigger head that may not be preferable.

If I had the same light I would leave it alone and play with it. Work with this light. Look at + and - of the light before you jump on a so called higher lumen drop in. This is SF's highest lumen drop in to date, and should be much better than the imported drop ins. Or, sell the E2DL drop in to someone who will appreciate it.

Because Surefire underrates the output of their lights, you may end up disappointed if you try to "go brighter". The E2DL is a great light in itself, but if you want super-bright, get a different light or prepare to spend some serious cash for a custom job.

BTW :welcome:

Do you have a link for that lumen testing. Thanks,

Bill

Oops, meant to direct that to Outdoors Fanatic.
