So one of my favorite uses for my Arc AAA-p(now sold) was as a tent light or in candle mode. This was accomplished with the plastic tubing from a Garrity funtastik light stick bough from wal-mart.

I am now very dissappointed that I can't do the same with my Fenix E01 :( didn't think the head was that much wider!? based on specs.

any others have ideas on something to use to accomplish this with the Fenix E01?

You should be able to split the tube part of the way up and drill a small hole at the end of the slit. That should allow the larger E01 head to fit in it.

what would drilling the hole do? keep it from splitting further?

thnx

Not sure if it's the effect you're looking for, but someone suggested a Chapstick cap as a diffuser. I tried it on mine. It fits on the head of the light, just above the knurling. It works nicely for reading and trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

I searched around my place and finally found a Chapstick with the white cap, works fine. However, I also find this other cap to some plastic tube that held some parts for these little corner shelves I had installed in the bedroom. Turns out, the plastic cap fits the E01 perfect! It's kinda neat because it makes it more stable for bezel standing, and glows while doing so. If I have it pressed all the way on it acts as a diffuser with a little bit of glow around the sides. Here are some pics:

Notice how you can see through the cap pretty well:

LOL i was reading on flashlight review.com about how the funtaskic light could fit the arc head, and i was gonna go home and try it today no my eo1! guess it wont work with out some mods first =[

but i have an idea, havnt tested it my self yet, but i use to use a nasal inhaler by vicks, and the cap is pretty long, and im not sure if it'll fit the eo1, and diffrent off brands make the same nasal inhaler with diffrent width openings in the caps, it might work!

and i havnt tired this either yet but thought of it last night, as a temp diffuser, why not use a piece of scottch tape on the bezel?

the chapstick cap works pretty good but i do find myself wishing it would fit a little better........maybe go on a little further.

tape over the bezel does well for accomplishing a very nice clean beam of light but it's more directional light whereas the chapstick cap and funtastik tube spread the light all around.

Let's find some more of those Plastic Caps

which WadeF used on his !

some lights could sit on a (glass) candle holder pretty well i guess, those stumpy little 1s.

would bump-on sheets cut to size make lights fit better? i think silicone shock absorbers do a fine job as it lets light through.

search the thread: Fenix LOD operation

a guy's avitar, has the vicks nasal inhaler as a diffuser!, but i believe the picture is a EO1 but it might be an EOD? i donno but i wanted to post this as soon as i could
