Extension for Z2

I saw a post on here, about putting a 1 cell extension on a 6P or Z2, and then a different bulb. Any ideas? Searching has me fairly fried, cant find a thing.

I get my 1 cell extentions for $6 at lighthound.com.

You could even purchase 2 18650 extention and run 3 17670 cells/batteries in your light for extended runtimes. It will be about 12in long, but very long runtimes as opposed to 3 cr123 cells.


For my Incandescent lights I prefer using 3 IMR 18650 cells. Long but greater runtimes than in a Surefire 9P; especially with Turbo heads.

You can get from Lighthound a Solarforce +1 extender, turn your 6P or Z2 into a 9 volt/ 3 cell light. I ran a 6P setup with a pair of 17500 li-ions and a Lumens Factory HO-9 lamp. Good output and runtime.

Oh, I see you want to run only 2 cells. while the brightest I have is the IMR9 D26 500 lumen drop-in for Surefire 2 cell hosts. I run it with 2 18650, but 2 17500 will work too.

You could also run the P90 and P91 lamp from Surefire with 2 17500.

Remember to get some AW 17500 protected cells. If AW made the IMR 17500 it would be better, but I didn't see them for sale at lighthound. Perhaps others may know if they exists. I only use AW IMR 16340 and IMR 18650 for my incandescent lamps.

Are the Surefire "A19" cell extenders still available? They match the gloss black 6P and Z2 finish nicely, and would let you run a P90 from 2x17500 cells.
