I have wondered how the regulated Fenix P1 coped with the two types of rechargeable RCR123's.
I measured the 3v RCR @ 3.7v no load. (650mah quoted)
This reduced to 2.99v @ initial 550ma, under load in the P1
I measured the 3.6v RCR @ 4.6v no load. (800mah quoted)
This reduced to 3.99v @ initial 950ma, under load in the P1
(Just within P1 spec @ 4.0v !!)
Both RCR123's were purchased from 5th Unit, and are available from DealExtreme, to name but one supplier. Unprotected, and rested from charger for a few days.
I have also included L1P using 2,000 mah nimh for comparison.
Usual RT details. EV=exposure meter values, my minimum useful output I consider is 8.0EV.
Both RCR123's dipped very quickly as their voltage dropped at the end. Much quicker than the graph shows, just over a minute or so.
I only took readings every 5 minutes towards the end of 1 hour.
As you can see, the 3v RCR was well regulated, the 3.6v RCR gave slightly more output, but with no gain in RT.
