Enlightened
Well it's been one year since the start of this project but our fixed driveway lights from Berkeley Point are finally installed and working! Why so long? Here's a one-word answer. Machining. I knew less than nothing about the subject which didn't help when trying to communicate with the machinist about designing/creating bases.
Each base is constructed out of two 18" SS pipes. The smaller one fits inside of the larger one and is held in place with screws that have rubber-like ends so as not to scratch the surface. This means that the lights can be raised to 36" when it snows as opposed to getting buried underneath.
In the meantime, Don released some brighter models so it may already be time to upgrade... Anyway, some pics follow -- will try to take more tonight.
