I'm planning on modding a AA sized Ultrafire with the FLuPIC driver and a Seoul P4 USWOI, and I was curious if the P4 can handle the ~1.2A maximum current of the driver. Anyone try this combination yet?

How hard you can drive an LED is all about the heatsinking. You can drive a Cree die led at 2 amps if you could keep it cool.

Thanks for the reply. Since it's a small AA light, the heatsinking isn't going to be superb, but the emitter does mount directly to the aluminum pill, so I think I'll be able to run 750mA fine. I was just worried if 1.2A would instaflash the LED much like what happens when incandescents are overdriven too much.

Leds don't instaflash unless you apply way to much current. You will be able to use Burst mode (1.2a) for 1 minute bursts.
