I noticed the specs seem to have changed to 8 second quick startup and instant restrike ability now, Could this be the new improved GP771 which G&P talked about releasing with a better and more reliable ballast in it ?

I seem to remember that the old one was a 30 second warmup with no hot restrike facility ?

If this could be made reliable, this would be a real pocket powerhouse of light that could be carried anywhere

We'll the specs looks good but then they always do. It's still from G&P and for that reason I'm personally not willing to take a chance on it.

I was thinking the same too, good specs, but not so good warranty, and with the £60 shipping, if it had to be returned for repair, it might as well be throwaway once it fails, Its a real shame, as its exactly what i want in a flashlight and at a good price too

Unfortunately, G&P have caused buyer reluctance because of their poor quality products. Then do some really nice machine work and shove a bunch of junk electronics into it, including a poor interior layout and design and usually lacking proper heatsinking. The thing is, they realize they come up short and just don't care. They're in it for the mass market and count on the uneducated to keep them afloat. At least that's how it seems to me...:green: A person would be safe to buy a machined piece from G&P but anything with electronics...forget it. I personally won't buy their products out of principle.
