I don't see why it wouldn't work. Malkoff's website does say to not run it for more than 15 continuous minutes in plastic lights, though, or the drop-in may be damaged. Overheat.

Lumenous output has no bearing on the heat dissipation or power consumption.
Plastic bodied lights don't work too well with LED's that need the proper heat dissipation.

It will work fine. Just don't use it for extended (greater than 15 min) continuous periods.
