Google Earth (Ruler)

Does anyone use this ruler for beamshot distances? Is it accurate? It works at any zoom scale.

I do not use it very often at all but I think Ra is pretty darn good at using it.

There was a ultimate thrower review awhile back, cant remember by who, but that person used the ruler..

Its very easy to use, I only started using it a week ago, though nothing over 2km. But its very handy to have.
