Has Dereelight ironed out the following issues on their lights?

I am considering getting a DBS V2 and a 3SD either Q5 or Q2 5A (I currently have a CL1H V3 Q5 2SM).

I'm wondering if Dereelight has sorted out the following issues on the DBS v2 and the 3SD pills:

1. 100Hz PWM flickering - I read inconsistent reports of this and don't know if this has been "fixed" on all new pills or if it is random and some new pills have it and some don't.
2. Whine on low modes (not a deal breaker for me, just wondering).
3. Some reviews of the DBS v1 mentioned the o-ring at the front of the lens is too small and comes out sometimes; is this an issue with the V2 as well? I didn't see it mentioned anywhere, but I just wanted to make sure.

Also, does anyone know when the R2 bins are coming? It's been over 6 months now and everyone is still using Q5s; R2s are nowhere in sight.

I've been very happy with my CL1H so far and am on the fence about new lights. Money... or shiny new things?

+1 - might want to send a PM to WadeF.

They have been changing their pills very frequently, and most changes are not noticed on CPF. They always say it is better, of course, but they also said that when they fixed the buzzing problem by putting the PWM in the visible range...

Right that's what I heard; PWM is very noticeable but was introduced to fix the "whine" issue... like many I would rather have a whine than PWM.

Not sure why they can't introduce Fenix-type circuitry that reduces current to reduce brightness, but I'm not an engineer.

If you are refering to a buzz my DBS has it on all three modes,it has effected the light nada it still throws like crazy :twothumbs

[edit] the buzz can only be heard if I place the light on my ear drum

Dereelight are using pwm on the newest pill, the pwm is fast enough for my use of the light.

Here are some scope traces of the light output (see lower right for frequency):

PS: The voltages between the two curves can not be compared.

Anyone have one of those "wave the light in front of a camera and take a picture" shots comparing the 250Hz PWM with the 180Hz or slower 100Hz PWM?

250Hz sounds like it wouldn't be very noticeable but I have almost no basis to compare it to other than my L0D RB80, which uses... who knows what frequency of PWM.

Thanks for those graphs though, they're fun to read :)

If the 250Hz PWM isn't noticeable to the naked eye I'll probably pick one up... not sure why people were calling for 20kHz PWM, that just sounds crazy and given my understanding of PWM it would just mean a very bright "low" setting...
