I got this Flashlight in exhange for work done for a client. Anyways I love the thing but have a few questions:

I was expecting some type of Users Manual - Nothing. Just a charger, the batteries and the flashlight. You would think a $500+ flashlight would come with some type of literature?

Anyways I know nothing about this flashlight, just that its bright as hell and its fun to play with, hehe

Have some questions:

Is it normal for a 5-Second warm up time for it to get bright? That kind of defeats the "tactical" purpose marked on the side of the flashlight.

Also, why does the color change on the light? Sometimes it will flicker from a bright white/blue to almost a shade of red. This is very noticeable when it warms up but even after its warm it will still change colors occasionally.

Is there suppose to be a bright white "ring" around the center of the light? When you shine the light on a wall there appears to be a reflective "halo" around the center of the beam? Almost looks like the "Target" store logo in shape

What should I know about this light? I hear it is bad to turn them off/on very quickly. Is this true?

Is there a factory warranty on the Microfire flashlight?

And why the hell is Microfire such a no-name company? Its really hard to get information and feedback on them

Thanks in advance

Hello,

I bought the 500R (10W) last year.

Yes, it has no Manual

Yes, it is normal that the bulb flickers due to the gas inside the bulb and the chemical reaction inside. After it has reached the "working temperature" it stays stable until you hold the flashlight upside down (my 500 then started to chance colours and flickered again)

Yes, it takes 10sec or something like that to reach full power, that absolutly normal to all HID.

It is an absolutly "no way" to just switch it on and than straightaway off again.
That will kill your flashlight!!!

Always have do switch it on and than wait at least 4min till switch it off again.

(That´s the way I´ve killed my MF a few month ago, seems have ruined the so called ballast, the most expensive part of the light :( )

There is a website http://www.microfire.cn but it is very very very very slow

And nowadays there´s no reason to buy a 10W HID or even a 24W HID if you see the Multi-LED or the new Osram Ostar-LED, a**kicking bright and not as capricious as the MF to work with....

I´ve bought a Wolf Eyes Storm now with 3 x CREE Q5 and is has (imho) the same output like the 500.
