Help needed with Leefbody & M60

Hi guys,
I just received a 2x18500 body from lighthound and experienced a problem. I can't get it to complete a circuit and light up a Malkoff M60. I'm using Genuine Surefire head & tailcap, AW 18500 cells, and Malkoff Devices LED drop ins.

This is my second 2x18500 Leefbody, so I took my other one, that operates normally, and switched all components, and it's still won't light up. I even tried a set of fresh primary 123A's.

*IF* I screw the tailcap all the down, and push the M60 in manually, and wiggle it around, it will eventually complete the circuit and light up, but I can't get it to do this when the head is on.

I check the spacing, and the head is not bottoming out on the body, meaning the Malkoff is getting wedged tightly before the head runs out of threads.

My first Leefbody was Black, this one is Natural.

What more can I do?

Try wrapping the M60 module in alum foil. Especially near the spring.

I have an intermittent contact in a 2x18650 Leef body. No problems with 2x18500 body. No problems with FiveMega bodies.

I recall a member here posting his solution. He fabricated a spacer ring from a large gauge copper wire.
I personally would try the washer that Malkoff sells first.

If that didn't work, the wire ring would be my next try. Good luck.

I find my piece of wire works better than the copper washer.

I experienced the same problem a while back with a black 1x18650 Leef and an M30. At that time I was impatient and sold it prior to seeking a fix.

I wrapped a paperclip around my BOG to make it work with a FM 2x18500 body. If you look on the Leef body, there will be a part that has no anodizing, THAT part is what needs to have contact with your Malkoff drop-in.

Same problem here
I recently brought a 1 x 18650 Leef body and both the
head and tail would not make electrical contact.
I just used a couple of homemade rings :thumbsup:

I have used Gene's copper washers in a 18650 and a 2 x 18500 Leaf bodies to give better contact with M60 and M30 drop ins. Both types of drop ins worked without but would shut off if the bezel was unscrewed a tiny amount.

The 18650 FiveMega body I just received would not work at all with the copper washer and I have wrapped the M30 in aluminum foil which works very well as stated in above posts.

Simple cheap already owned notebook wire.

I need to do this with a couple of different D26 drop-ins.

Rather than using wire I form a loop from a length of 0.7mm or 1mm dia solder.
As the solder is soft it deforms as you screw the bezel down, allowing it to be screwed all the way down clamping the drop-in tightly. No rattles and a good conduction path.

I have used the Malkoff washers and they are a bit of an awkward fit in the leef bodies - they don't really sit well as they are a tad small and they also leave a decent gap. I don't use any of the ones I bought for my leefs.

I just wrapped the bottom of my drop-ins in wire from a sketchpad and drop it in - perfect fit, NO GAP, and works in all my leef bodies.

Could the OP use the proper sized O-ring (GITD perhaps) infront of the module, beneath the pyrex? That would allow the M30 to seat against the host body and (maybe) help conduct heat?
