Hi all,

Gearing up for my first LED projects. I've been reading quite a bit and (I think) have a good understanding of all of the concepts. My main problem has been finding a good host for my personal tastes.

Do you guys just buy cheapo lights with annodized aluminum bodies and reuse whatever you don't want to upgrade? I found "blank" maglite barrels, which are cheap ($6 iirc) and will be great for my larger build.

I'm also looking for a smaller body that can host 2 sets of 2 3.7V Li-ion cells running in parallel to two isolated emmiter arrays pushing about 700mA to each. Additional length is ok, but I want to keep the body diameter as small as possible. I've seen just about every part of a flashlight imaginable for sale as a component, but I've never seen more than a few very expensive head A + body B + cap C (proprietary) type DIY barrels. I hope I'm missing something when I'm googling. t6160 is kind of expensive and I really do not want to start threading it myself :)

The above light will run most of the time on one array or another, although I am going to add an instant on-off clickie for the whole array in case I need to show someone the light. Any good source for the crenellated bezels too? I can only seem to find a few sizes!!

Thanks for any help. I also have a 4Ah 6V lead rechargeable cell w/ a charging port and regulator circuitry that I am trying to decide what to do with. It all fits nicely into the body of the 1million CP rechargeable it came out of, and it can accomodate a PC heatsink on the back of the array. I'm think 7 x cree q series maybe?
