HaHaHa Now Rivers is saying it was a false report from NBC that did all this! From AP:
[ QUOTE ]
Rivera said it sounds like the rumors that he'd been kicked out were spread by people he described as "rats" at NBC, where he used to work.
He said his rivals "can't compete fair and square on the battlefield" - so they try to stab him in the back.
But in the end, he insists, "quality journalism wins out."

[/ QUOTE ]

Of course, he couldn't define "quality jornalism" with two dictionaries and an encyclopedia to help. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

IMO, CNN got better (not good, but better) when they dumped Arnett. NBC needs all the help it can get and this is a good start for them. FNC is the best of the (generally poor)broadcast news bunch, and I think this will improve their credibility. If only Rita Cosby could figure out that you can't launch an F-117 from a carrier...

Maybe this fartknocker is in cahoots with Jerry Springer, and his type of "journalism" will show up on the Springer Show pretty quick - sans thrown chairs of course. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Imagine Peter Arnett and Heraldo Riverra on the Jerry Springer Show for sleeping with their cousins or something. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I saw it on Drudge, and then checked Foxnews before coming here and found a couple references on Drudge and nothing on Fox. My Sister knew about it from TV saying they are TRYING to kick him out.

We'll see. I couldn't really see how he got better, but must admit he makes a pretty good cheerleader!

I guess I should be glad that I have no idea who Peter Arnett is. Really, I don't. I tried the washingtonpost link but I was required to sign up so I backed out. I guess I must have seen him on one of the news shows as I was flipping channels, but lately I've been flipping fast because whenever I've turned on the tube to see some vid's of what's going on, there's never anything 1st-hand or unfiltered, just talking heads who sound like complete idiots because they make such boneheaded mistakes about both the technologies and tactics involved that reveal their total ignorance. They must all have been the kids in the class who belittled math & science folks as morons. And no channel shows anything beyond interviews of Chief Speculators. Grrrrr. It's all shameful newscasting, especially considering what those primped makeup-faces are getting paid.

Since he was "embedded" I imagine the US Military bears some responsibility for his safety, and as such will escort him safely to the Iraq border with Kuwait. After that I imagine he is on his own if he decides he wants to reenter Iraq.

Well crap, feel free to beat me up brothers, but I can kinda see myself eventually forgiving the lead Dixie Chick. I don't expect her to be able to contain her stupidity. Plus the Chicks did such a good job at the Super Bowl. They didn't warp it out they way most "Star Spangled Banner" singers do it. Man, that was such a pretty rendition.

She just needs to go to the Brad Pitt School of Performing Artists Making Political Statements College. The resulting knowledge from this school is: "I'm just a [actor, singer, songwriter], what do I know?".

Peter Arnett is different. His profession is journalism. He should know better. Hopefully, his career is over. I think some of the frustration with him exhibited by relativity to Mr. Rivera has to do with the fact that there is a history of worthless journalists regaining stature in the media. Heraldo is a joke. Peter is a joke.

If none of what I said makes you feel better try to remember this: Heraldo trying to get an "inside" interview with a wrestler and got his *** whipped on tape. Help me with the quote: "You think wrestling is fake? Does this feel fake?"

Maybe Mr. Arnett will resort to the same interviewing tactic with a member of the republican guard. Or maybe he'll do what I want him to do. Go home and shut up.

If he does get kicked out I wish I had a Kid so I could meet him at the airport and tell the kid to kick him in the rather oversized pair of cojones he sports. Imagine some single Idiot jeopardizing the lives of thousands with such sensitive info as Unit ID's and locations and speculating on action of said units. Iraqi intelligence probably soaks that stuff up. Probably lost the opportunity to exploit any weaknesses in the lines there. Maybe he should be brought up on charges of espionage? Maybe it's disinformation though? What if it is disinformation given to Retardo Rivera cause they knew he'd leak it? That would be alright!

Given Rivera's history, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Iraqi military blowing it off as cheerleading... Of course, if they're stupid enough to fall for Rivera's "gameplan", then they deserve to get ambushed by the US forces.

IMHO Arnette's "apology" was anything but an apology. It showed his arrogance and contempt for the U.S. He never apologized for what he did and said it was wrong. His comments WILL cost coalition lives, not maybe, not perhaps. His comments will rally some number of people that were on the bubble for giving up. His comments were absolute comfort to the enemy. An apology of, I apologize to the American people, I didn't know my comments would cause a firestorm, is NOT an apology for his actions. Not that it really matters, an apology never negates the damage and his words will get our forces killed apology or not. It's not about free speech or the first amendment it's about right and worng. History may remember Arnette as the Jane Fonda of 2003.

Rivera is saying this AM, I am leaving Iraq, the military and I want to leave, it was a mutual decision. Yea right! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yellowlaugh.gif

I'm not talking about Peter Arnett, ( don't really know him or his statements), but I am surprized anybody takes the words of someone like Geraldo serious enough to let him comment about the war... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

IMHO, he has made every effort to show his (very low /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif ) mental capabilities, so, other than trying to make himself ridiculous, I wonder what his goals are... just beying in the spotlights? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

Please enlighten this ignorant foreigner. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Bart,
If you find out, please enlighten this ignorant non-foreigner /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Why would anyone hire or watch him? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
I'd be so pleased if FoxNews dumped him completely. IMO, it would heighten their credibility.

(Sorry for replying to my own post, but ...)

I've mentioned Fox News Channel in a few posts in this thread, and I admit I prefer them to all the other broadcast news outlets.

But how can you NOT love it when a station does something like this? Article in NJ newspaper /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I didn't think conservatives, especially conservative companies had senses of humor?

It's a good thing I never had access to a big scrolling sign like that /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

LOL! Thats really great.

You see, the people irked by this missed the logical extension to the first amendment, and that is that I get to tell you what I think about what you are free to say!
