after finally muscling off the bezel and a pretty bad blister on my finger. I got to the reflector, and it seems to be placed and fitted extremely well in the head.

my question is, whats the best way to remove the reflector without damaging it. there isnt a way i can get underneath it to pull it out, or find a good part to push it out from?

I just get a fraen optic that i want o try out in it.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You can't remove the reflector. It is one with the rest of the head. So if you need room, you have to mill/grind/drill it out.

These pics may give you a better idea.

The reflector is not an individual part.
Reflective material is 'coated' directly on the innards of the metal.
As pointed out, you will need to Dremel or machine the head to drop in other available reflectors.

It is pretty easy to remove the bezel though if you want to change glass or clean it. Surefire uses some type of threadlock but if you heat a cup of water to boiling in the microwave and dip the bezel end in for a few seconds wearing leather gloves it will unscrew pretty easily. Just make sure to wear protective eye gear and be weary of the water flash boiling when the head touches the water, because it can cause injuries if the water flash boils. You can leave the water set a short while if that makes you more comfortable, hot water that isn't quite at the boiling point will do the trick as well. Just don't drop the head in, you don't want water spots on the reflector. When you re-assemble use blue loc-tite (threadlock) and let it cure for about 48hrs at least. Or be careful with it for a few days.

I removed the reflector off my KL4 bezel which is part of the bezel just like the E1e bezels. Sadly; I used a dremel and I wish I had left it alone:poof:

thanks to all for the help, guess i wouldnt be trying out the fraen optic until a get another head. :)
