Yup. Just like jtr demonstrated, the only thing that really matters is the delta h and the mass. It is the same for any vehicle. If I loose 20% of my SOC in the climb, then a similar gas car will also lose 20% of its fuel economy on the same climb. And the difference, as you point out, is that you get a gift when you do turn around and come back down.
I'll even pay half of it. What's that cost, Darell? Oh! Yeah! It's free because of his solar setup.
