Just tried out my AE Xenide 25W at work last night. I must say I'm impressed with the throw, not mentioned the excellent build and light weight.
Now the problem with maximizing the throw is that I get a spot (or dot?) when I perform inspection at shorter distance of about 5 feet. I'll probably try out the diffuser on my next night shift but from what I've seen when using it outside my apartment it may not have sufficient throw for my longer distance inspection at work (about 100 feet).
Does anyone know where I can get a diffuser that diffuses the beam a little for a sufficiently wide spot (not dot) for close quarters but not so much that I can still illuminate something a bit further? Maybe something like the matte lens on the L1 or a textured reflector that can fit the bezel? I looked up the AE website but apparently they only have smooth reflectors for Xenides.

go to battery junction.com, thats where I got mine.

These items go hand in hand. You will not be dissapointed,

I think it was about 27 dollars.

Thanks for the pointers Kyle. It seems that they have the same diffusers as PTS, which is fine, because I've grown to like the flood mode through the stock diffuser. Unfortunately I lost mine at work this morning only after 2 nights in action. I'm going to get 2 more from Mike at PTS. In the meantime I'll try to find the etching agent mentioned somewhere in the forum some time ago (not sure where and when) for producing the frosted effect on glass and maybe some tempered glass from a neighborhood lighting shop to attempt to custom make my own diffuser. Thanks again Kyle
