jetbeam lll m AW battery probs.

i just got 2 jetbeam lll m r2 lights and 2 AW 18650 cells from this sight and a wf -139 charger,
when i put the 18650 cells in the charger the light flicks red for a while then it goes to a solid green as they have been charged.when i put the cell in the light ,nothing ! but when i use 2 c123 cells its fine,is there a problem with the compatability with these aw cells or am i not charging these right ? :mecry:

do you have a digital multimeter? if not, i recommend you get one and test the voltage of the cell to see what it reads. i've had some cells come to me dead and had to get them replaced.

i bought 4 cells so i will check the other 2 cells,i kind of think its the charger,but not sure,its defiantly not the lights (2) as it works with the smaller cells.

i just fixed the problem with the batteries,the shrink wrap on the positive end was to thick and wasnt making contact with the led end if that makes any sense.

My Jetbeam III M doesn't like the AW 18650 2600 cells either. This is a common problem i've been told. The + contact doesn't stick out far enough on the cell and the + contact on the head isn't long enough. A little magnet helps.

You can use the AW 2200 "button top" 18650 batteries with the Jetbeam iii military also. The AW flat top 2600 batteries aren't combatable with the jetbeam iii m.

I noticed this myself after picking up a new generation AW Li-ion 18650 cell, luckily my Jet III M came with an Ultrafire 3000mAh cell, a pity I really prefer AW cells

Well....sort of. I bought a Tenergy flat top 18650 with my Jet III M and just placed a small dab of solder in the middle of the positive end. Works perfect now.

I've had similiar issues occasionally with 10180 cells. I thought I could have 'overcharged' them. Then I noticed the cells worked fine in my SILVER WEE . I tried them again in my Wee Ns and 3 of 4 worked. one cell for whatever reason is charged yet will not work in my Ns Wee yet worked in the Silver version. Seeing a fully, freshly charged cell not working is an eye opening experience that requires an explanation.

will the magnet stick to the brass end or the positive end of the battery ?
