Lost my P3DCE - replaced it with a PD30

Well I've been looking for my trusty P3D for some time now and can't find it.

So I finally broke down and bought something very similar but with higher lumens, the PD30. It has about the same look and feel as my P3D but I like the strobe mode a little more - it's brighter and it runs at a slightly different frequency, making it a little more disorienting, something I wanted for self defense. Not to scare off dogs but to buy myself 1-2 seconds of time to take appropriate actions if confronted.

It's a neat little light and will be my EDC. Shout-out to Greg and Tina at Brightguy! :thanks:

No doubt the PD30 is still one of my favorite light's not matter how much I spend on more expensive lights. The UI is quick and easy and the runtimes are awesome also I can carry it in the holster on my belt and forget it's their. I still use the older P3D holster instead of the newer holster, I get them form lighthound in bunches because they are so useful not only with the PD30 but other light's as well.

What version did you get XR-E, XP-E or XPG?

What version did you get XR-E, XP-E or XPG?

Mine is the XP-G R4. It's a tad bluer than my P3D but not objectionably so. I'm getting used to the new holster. Fortunately I didn't lose the old holster in case I want to go back to it. I'm relieved to have a decent EDC again!

Why not the Quark 123x2?

Because the PD30 is rated at 265 lumens. Also I'm familiar with Fenix and I like their build quality. I'm sure the Quark is comparable - I juist haven't tried one.
