Mag ROP -VS- Pelican ROP?

Curious... What pelican lights were the ROP PR lamps originally designed for and how well do they stack up against the "standard" Mag-ROP builds?

Lead-acid lantern types I think. Big, heavy, and a good sized reflector.

The Mag is better because, if done right, it is slightly over driven and made very white without the extra bulk of the Pelican.

I believe the pelican bulbs come from the "BIG D" flashlight.
