Well just got my malkoff dropin for my 3 d-cell maglite. It is awesome, had a little trouble at first cutting the reflector, luckily samsclub was open and I just bought a new maglite combo for 19 bucks, anywho, what kind of battery options do i have, can i go rechargeable? also is there anything else i can do to bump up the output a little? THX!!

Congratulations! I just got mine today too, would have been yesterday, but I was out when initial delivery was attempted. Initial thoughts are it is awesome, Great job Gene !! I know some people setup with AA's and battery holders, but not sure how that works, so I will be watching this thread with interest.

haha it looks like not al lot of people have done it. So Ill tell you the little i found out, I emailed gene himself to ask and this was his reply, "You can use 3 alkalines or up to 4 NIMH/NiCad. The Mag Charger Stick will have too much voltage."
so other than that im in the dark
more people talk to me!!!!!

Thanks for the info. With the great runtimes, I will probably just use alkalines for now. If I do experiment with LSD rechargeables, I may start with using it in my 2D light and test it. The LSD 'D' cells are rather expensive, and the charger is also.

Doesn't ship internationally? Well Gene is in Alabama, USA and I am in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada... Gene has shipped both the Mag and Surefire drop-ins to me. That is international no?

Give a phone call from the number on his site. I am sure he will ship just about anywheres if you talk to him

As for another battery set up, I am using 3 good ol' Duracells and it works great!

Whoa, didn't know that. I was almost sure that I've seen him post that he "didn't want the hasself of international shipping".

Thanks for letting me know.
