I was showing my Maratac AAA to a buddy at work today, after he saw me using it as a headlamp. "thats pretty handy, and pretty bright. where did you get it?" I didnt say a word, just turned it to high mode...... "holy poop, I want one!"
Another co-worker comes over to see what whats going on. First buddy starts showing off the light to the newcomer.... "dude, that rules!" Both guys were impressed with the run times. Second guy says "wow, I guess Maglites arent the best". Pretty much made my day.
sadly, niether of them flashed themselves in the face :scowl:
So, I have sold my 2 spare Maratacs....
Pretty sure the first guy will want more lights after I bring in some others to show him. Hoping he will want my L2D, so I can use the money tward a quark

Hide your wallet because maratac is here to stay. They're working on some very exiting projects at the moment.

Exciting would be cheaper shipping prices. ;)

This has been discussed extensively in other threads, please lets not trash this one ...:dedhorse:

I hope they are making the AA version of the AAA light. If they are, make it a hair smaller than the EZAA and change the sequence to L/M/H. I will definitely buy it. Almost bought the EZAA actually if it wasn't for the limited 2 modes.

Here Here, GREAT stuff. I also just got ( Today ) ITP's Polished AAA with key chain from B.O.G. This thing SWEEEEET. This one in addition to the Maratac's I already have. For Christmas I am sure I will create a few Flashaloics.

Itp should probably just stick with maratac and run with it.

its THE smallest light around that gets that bright on an AAA

Unless 4sevens releases their upcoming AAA light in the same price range as the ITP AAA, I'll be getting half a dozen or so of the "upgrade edition" A3 EOSs to use as stocking stuffers this christmas. I decided against the Maratac because I think knurling is inappropriate for a keychain light.

Of the 6 relatives that will be receiving them, at least 3 have the potential to become flashaholics. We'll see if a quality keychain light can't "awaken" them.

My wife absolutely loves her LF2XT and uses it daily, but that's a bit expensive for a stocking stuffer...

I know you're kidding some but there's always the ITP option for those with shipping cost objections to items shipped by CC.

I prefer the specific features of the Maratac over the ITP, so for me they were worth the extra little bit. Maratac will likely continue to offer lights a bit earlier and slightly different from ITP, so from that perspective it might also help to justify the cost difference.

Yeah, I prefer the Maratac also.
Better grip
Tail stand
Finally, I like to remove the ring at the tail end, and replace it with an o-ring. Helps the light grip the bill of my hard hat. Best dang multi purpose pocket light I have seen yet.

Will probably be getting several ITP versions for Xmas gifts.
If only they came in colors, like maglites, then the women in my life would love them. Green, purple, blue, red. I would be a freaking hero, and probably make some converts.
