MiniMag thread question

I got this MiniMag for a conversion but have a question about thread (head-to-body).

It seems a bit to loose. Is there any way I can increase the tension a bit? Like put some tape on the inside of the threads (the one made specifically to waterproof threads)

The heads on all of my incan minimags wobble a bit.

The 2xAA MagLED is even worse.

A thicker o-ring or teflon tape work.

If you want to actually use the twist switch, just use a thicker o-ring.

How will a thicker o-ring help?

The o-ring is positioned at the base of the head...it's the top part of the head (past the o-ring) that causes all the wobbling.

Try it sometime. The thicker o-ring stabilizes the head quite a bit. I have used a glow ring from Sigman before. The other time, I just had a spare o-ring handy of the right size.

It may still wobble a bit, but will be a lot more stable overall.

I'll have to check my stash of DX o-rings and see if they are thicker than what's already on it.

I put some tape on the threads and it got better.

but a bigger O-ring might still be a good idea.
