Upgraded a MiniMag to SMJLED. I don't like the reflector that came with it, too many artifacts in the beam.

Is there a stippled reflector available, to make it more floody?

No really good hits come up in the search. (hard to believe)

Maybe you can try stippling the reflector yourself.
There is a recent thread where the OP asks about frosting
bulbs. Someone mentions some Krylon spray that frosts bulbs
dont know if that will work on a plastic reflector ???

Have you tried centering the emitter / reflector / minimag's head?
That won't help you get rid of the emitter wiring artifacts, but it will greatly reduce their visibility.

My minimag's head (it's a veeeery old mag) has a lot of slack. The beam varies from pretty ugly to quite acceptable as you wiggle the head this way and that.

I did not get good results w/ that reflector & have not seen this mentioned in other's comments on SMJ LED module & reflector kit in a MiniMag.

I modded a Ray0Vac swivel head 2AA w/ bi-pin bulb. Dropping the module in & using the included smooth reflector resulted in a shadow or dark donut in center of beam- bullseye white. Starting up close it becomes larger, worse as distance is increased. It was not so bad that the light would be not be usable for the intended purpose.
I used a faceted reflector & it's 9.9 out of 10 now. Made changes the next day after posting it.

It should be fairly easy to get another reflector & cut it down for the MiniMag.

Someone mentioned spraying a reflector w/ hairspray.

You can mount a Kathod stippled reflector in. You will need orings to help centre it in the head.

It will kill all throw but give you a beautiful flood.

ALso, if you try a Terralux minimga drop-in reflector (you can buy spares from Battery Junction for $2) it provides a smoother beam.

The other thing I do (you can try this first) is lighty frost the front surface of the smj led. I use a brillo pad. This smooths out the beam. If you don't like it you will have to polish it out, but I like it...

Interesting idea. But wouldn't a brillo pad reduce some reflectivity, thus lumens?

Do you have the link for the other stuff?
