My wolf-eyes Q5 is the 4 mode-module (3.7V-6V), Bugout Q5 is one mode (4.5V-9V)

Lux readings(using primary cells): WFQ5: 5700 lux, BugoutQ5: 11300 lux

The wolf-eyes is brighter than bugout, and the bugout is a thrower, both are nice modules :twothumbs

I know from Wade's measurements the Dereelight CL1H gets about 8000Lux on his reader

do you have on, can you compare?

i wonder which outthrows which.

My eyeball says the BOG is brighter and has a tighter beam with more throw
The Wolf Eyes is also nice and bright but has a lot more side spill just like your pictures show

I would love to see Deree CL1H in the mix

Cool beamshots, thanks for posting! Boy, each quality manufacturer has it's own merits as mentioned. The WE does have a really nice wide spill, and that BOG's hotspot is like a laser!

I just simply did ceiling bounce test with the light meter for total output, the wolf-eyes got higher number than Bugout, however if judged by my eyeball, hard to tell the difference.
and sorry, I don't have a deree CL1H for compare!

I am guessing that is the BOG "super premium" drop-in? That seems like a really high lux reading, do you have a Malkoff M60 to compare to?

The BOG is highly reputed to be a strong thrower. In my experience and from reading others' the Malkoff will have less throw than the BOG, but will yield an enormously larger spill area, the best I've seen. That being said, the Malkoff would have a lower lux (throw) reading, though a higher total lumens/output.

Yes, my bouout module is the Q5 "super premium" that claimed 230 lumen
and I don't have the Malkoff M60:(

Would be interesting to see how the Malkoff Q5 compares to BOG Q5, lux at one meter, and bounce with lightmeter. Malkoff will have wider beam, of course, but it's optic may put out a high approximate lumen value.
