Need help! EOS P4 Mod?

The original star seems to have something soldered to it underneath the negative lead ( Thermal sensor?). I've got the star loose but will break what's underneath if I pull to hard. Anyone have this problem?

Take a razor blade and carefully pry off the thermal sensor diode.

Mine popped off fairly well on the 2nd one I modded. The first toook more work.

People have run theirs with the sensor broken/cut off, but I think it's best to just pry it off with a razor blade.

Remove the glue, and just put some thermal compound on it when installing the new star.

Have fun, this is a great mod. I use the Khatod stippled 17 mm refelctor. Great flood (but no spot).

Thanks Gunga, Got it done. Just did what you said and cut it off with a blade. I'm using the stock optic right now which seems to work pretty good. I tried a reflector from a Dorcy 123 and it makes a perfect spot with great spill but I'm not sure if I want to steal it out of the Dorcy yet.
