HI all,
my first post so be gentle with my ineptitude,
to cut a long story short i installed two cr123rs into my MTE SF-23 SSC P7-D-SXO 5-Mode Memory 900-Lumen LED Flashlight (1*18650) from Dx.by mistake
DOH DOH what a numpty.
I take it that i have blew something on the board as it now operates only on mid power without switching through the modes.
The question is can install another board the only one i can find on the dx website is
SKU 20330 and how can i dissasemble the main pill?(i take it that is the housing that contains the p7 7 watt led? ) to install the new cb and hopefully use the light utilising two cr123rs to up the voltage as this seems to be the only circuit board available for the light ,
Cheers in advance Laverdaman.

Welcome to CPF.

If you look in the LED forum you'll find a "sticky" thread that has info about the various drivers available, including driver boards for the P7. You'll find that there are recommended drivers and some that are not so good.

You certainly can replace the driver, you'll need a good soldering iron & solder, some small gauge wire [most boards have wire leads installed but I prefer to use my own wire]. A small vice or 3rd-hand device is useful too.

BTW, when you replace the driver you can get one that can handle 2X CR123 [6V] or 2X RCR123 [8.4V] max voltage, that will prevent a reoccurence.

Thanks Gurthang,
any idea how i take the module that houses the led and driver apart i take it that i will have to desolder and remove the p7 is the rest of the module threaded and then glued?
Cheers for your speedy reply,

Sorted thanks i think there was a bit of loctite there but i managed to get the end removed now to source a driver!

L,

Take some time and search this forum. There's been LOTS of threads about "how do I fix ???, how do I change the driver?, how do I get ??? apart...

Some time and study will answer your questions and as a bonus, some of the threads have pics to help your project....

Remember: "The SEARCH function is you friend."
