Noob here so perhaps this is a rediculous question.
I see all these new lights with 5-20 modes. Why don't they offer an "unregulated" mode... where DC-DC is bypassed and the emitter is just directly driven? Wouldn't that allow the operator to capitalize on that initial burst off fresh cells? if he/she so desires... and conversely allow the user to run the cells all the way down?
