A question for the collective,

I noticed SF has increased the rated output on the P60L this year. Does anybody know if this is an adjustment in figures like what was done with the E2DL or if in fact that they enhanced the output by 40 lumens?

If so when did they start shipping the higher output modules?

Thanks in advance.

Can't answer your questions cause I don't know. But I picked a P60L up a couple of weeks ago and FWIW, I don't use it anymore cause it was a waste of money. I purchased a ThruNite P60 XP-G R5 drop-in and have been happy ever since.

Now? Now I want a Surefire 9P body so I can use all this puppy has to offer; 9V option.

It's always been 80 lumens...I got one when they came out in the G2L's still had the nitrolon bezel, and it was rated at 80 then....

Check out this thread to make that P60L useful again.

The 120 lumen rating actually refers to the very latest model where the LED module is a part of the bezel, think KL3. You cannot easily remove the LED module from the bezel as you could with the older P60L-based lights that we are all familiar with. This is an in-line replacement of all P60L-based lights, as of SHOT Show 2010.

Oh my, is that all.

:faint:

Yep.... Replaced the LED in mine with a high CRI P4, and I'm happy now, other than 1 issue. The only problem I have now, is that the light will shut off, when it starts heating up. At least it heats up quick, now, which means thermal conductivity improved. (I put new heatsink compound on, and everything). That's bad thermal regulation, to me, if I've ever seen any! Just gotta make my 17mm boards, then put one of those in, and make a heatsink sleeve for the P60L.
