P7 Maglite Dropin

I'm sorry that I can't give you any constructive advice about this product but by the looks of the poor soldering and badly fitting pcb at the base of the light it does not instill confidence in its quality or potential longevity. If you buy one let us know how it turns out?:twothumbs

This will fit into a d mag, but you will have to make a collar from the brass bit to the out side of the mag tube, plus hard wiring from the switch but it would be tough to remove the head after this due to the wires and it's possable but it will not be user friendly:thumbsdow
Some of the builders have try to make a P7 drop-in's but most didn't like the results, good luck i look forward to see how this works out! OH please post up some pics cheers DocD

What do they mean by attaching tinfoil & thermal glue to the body?
He means he uses crumbled aluminum and thermal glue to fill the gap between the brass bottom part of that dropin and the wall of the M@g light body so the heat can pass from the dropin to the body of the M@g.

Otherwise IMO even five minutes will probably cause overheating damage, but it might not kill it right away. This dropin is not designed for M@gs, probably more for a 18650 or RCR123 body.
