first and foremost, if this is not in the right forums, mods, please move this thread.

okay, down to business. I'm trying to make a custom surefire light using parts from dealers that hopefully saves me money in the long run. I'm looking for a KL5 head, but the head that comes with the L2 is really what I'm looking for, dual level, 100 lumens max, 10 ish lumens on low. I would ideally like a rechargeable option, but that's not on the top on my list. I think the LED can handle the 7.2 volts if I use a rechargeable pair of batteries. The following are the requests for the head, body and tailcap of my ideal light, btw, I would be buying this light part by part and I would like everything to be compatable with my current G2, just for compatabilitie's(spl?) sake.

Body:
Cheap, money wise
HA III anodized
pocket clip (optional)

Head/ Bezel:
LED with 2 modes, more than 65 lumens on high
HA III anodized
anti-roll
possibly with converter if too big for the body

tailcap:
one that comes with the body or…
clicky, preferably
HA III anodized
LOTC

please tell me where I can get these parts besides the B/S/T here because I couldn't find hardly anything on lighthound. I would, o/c, want the HA III to match, so I wouldn't have something that had a black bezel, grey body and green LOTC or something. BTW, I'm still a student, so my money isn't exactly on the high end of the spectrum, if I have to buy one part a year for a couple years, so be it.

thanks for all of you help, and your soon to be replies

thanks again, flash

are you guys sure you don't have any sources for getting just parts online?
thanks again ( I think :lolsign: ),

In the L2, the head is "dumb" -- all of the circuitry is in the body of the light.

BTW, I don't think you're going to save money by trying to make a SureFire from parts. I think that if you want to save money, you're better off getting a used light.

ok, thanks georgepaul
I don't think I'll be able to make one from parts anyways because I can't find anywhere besides CPF that sells just parts. gah!
have a good one (and I'll try to too),

The problem here is the requirement for two levels. The Surefire lights that have interchangeable parts (E, C and M-series) are all single level. The multi-level lights like the L1, L2, A2 and U2 are unique and the parts are not generally interchangeable with other models.
