Ok so Im thinking of getting a C2 in HA then get the Light hound 1 cell extender to turn it into a C3 then get the Turbo head for the C3.

Would this be a better weapon light than say a stock SF M3?

I think that since the M3 has a shock isolation system, it wins in that regard. Check on the price to put it all together as well. I have all three, M3, C3 and C2 and like all of them, but probably prefer M3.

Depends. If you know you want to end up with a 3 cell light, why start with a 2 cell light? C3, 9P and M3 are available.

You did not mention on what type of weapon you are mounting the light. It is possible the extra diameter of the Turbohead might be a factor. Keep in mind that the KT Turbohead that will fit the C3-9P is not shock isolated.

If you have a high recoil situation the M3 or M3T might be more appropriate.

The cheapest Turbohead option would be a 9P with an added KT2-BK. The M3or M3T step up by about $50 and $100.

Or if you are just trying to get your SF legos parts together....use a C-M adaptor for the KT4 shock isolated head on the C2...

I think maybe he's talking about that 1 cell extender with the "grip" around it, so it may have a purpose other than just being a way to make a 2 cell a 3 cell light. In which case, I'd say go for it. But definitely run a C-M adapter and a KT4 or M3 bezel (Z46) for shock isolation if you are going to use it in recoil applications.

wouldnt any kind of extender, detonator or not, make the C2 look kinda wierd? it already has its own grip ring... i would think a 1 cell extender, detonator or not, would work better with a 6P?

Your requirement will obviously depend on what weapon you will be using, but you should think carefully before going for a Turbohead - it adds weight and bulk, making operation more clumsy. The M3 without the turbohead is fine for most applications.

Does anyone know how much KT1/2 turbohead weights, I couldnt find it on surefire site. Thanks.

Just weighed one on Mrs DM51's kitchen scales and got yelled at, "Don't you even think about cluttering up my kitchen with those things," lol.

Anyway, the answer is 130g / 4½oz.

 Sounds familiar.

Thanks for the quick reply. Looks like my leef 2x18500 just might get a turbohead and LF EO-M3T.

6 weeks till the holiday. I'm heading to bay area USA, is there any chance that a local surefire dealers hold this in stock? Maybe a nice showpiece so I can get my hands on one :naughty:

NOT going to pay that import tax by ordering online.

Just my opinion, but for something to be used in a tactical application the fewer parts/pieces the better. Less to go wrong. Adding an extender also adds another area for a possible electrical continuity problem. One more place to get loose or dirty. If you know you want a 3-cell light just get one with a 3-cell body in the first place. I suggest an M3 as a very good compromise of throw compared between a C3 and a M3T but with a reasonable sized head (smaller than a KT4) and shock isolation (which the C3 doesn't have).

Instead of building a butt ugly Frankstein, why don't you just get the whole flashlight? Buy a whole M3 or the M3T if you prefer the Turbohead.

haha actually i just bought a M6 guardian. on clearance for $270. Granted the M6 is NO WHERE NEAR weapon mountable. but as a hand held it throws an impressive beam and I plan to use it as an offensive light for airsoft. I have been able to get some good tactics and use out of my G2Z but now that I got my gladius and M6 im anxious to see how much better they will improve my cqb/lights off games haha
