I originally built this light for GhostReaction with a D2flex board.
I rebuilt it with dual Shark Buck 3A boards, both controlled by one dimming pot. Each Shark Buck drives a pair of P7s for fully regulated output of 2.94A measured. Actual could be around 3A given the voltage drop across the meter. At 11.1V input, the light draws 4.9A. At 12.6V in, the draw is 4.23A.
Given the ~25V input limit of the Sharks, this light can also be run using the 8 X 18650 holder and 2 dummy cells.
The momentary switch for the D2flex was replaced by a stock action. Here's a pic of the guts with a temporary pot wired for bench testing.
Here's all that mounted in the tube.
I had to rewire the string and didn't account for anything other than serial connection when I designed the wireway, so some wires had to jump across the face of the sink.
This is the first Ellie II I've installed a pot knob on, and due to the shape there is less clearance for the knob. I machined a step in the bottom of the knob to clear the lip of the head.
Here's the finished light next to another pot mod.
