I seem to be collecting small, pocket flash-lights, with batteries no bigger than CR 2 and 123. So far, I have a 4 Sevens Mini CR2, a Raw Ti, a Jillite J2 Natural, all with CR2s, and an MXDL with a 123A. Of these, the 4Sevens seems to produce the most light. I'm sure there are many more that use AAAs and even AAs, but they are all just that bit bigger than the 123s and CR2s.

Can those who are much more knowledgeable than I (almost everyone on this forum, I'm sure) suggest any others…… preferably something with even better outputs?. Not that I mean to complain about the ones I've got, I think they are pretty amazing for their size, but more is always better!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Try RCR li-ion cells if you want a nice ' boost'

You might want to check out the iTP A1/2/3 line, try 10440's in the A3, it gives an amazing output from such a small form factor

Thanks Red Forest, I've ordered an A1. At $25, it's got to be worth every penny!

I haven't found dimensions for the A 3 yet but I'm afraid it might be a bit on the big side.... worth pursuing if the battery you're suggesting turns it into a flame thrower though!

Thanks again.

Big? It's 2 3/4" (65mm) X 1/2" (10mm).

The A3 is 66.5mm by 14mm and weighs only 9 grams though my gorgeous shiny stainless A3 is 24.8 grams ... This is a great EDC torch as long as you don't mind it coming on in medium then low then high ... I personally prefer the A2 which is 75.5mm long by 20.4mm and is 22 grams though again the stainless version is 41.1 grams ... I have both versions of the A2 and carry the stainless ... The sequence is my preferred low-medium-high as is the A1.

If you want to go ultra-lightweight then the A3 with a lithium AA is only 16.7 grams total weight.

Whichever A series iTP you choose , you won't be disappointed with it.

Theres a small flashlight roundup under the Reviews category sticky you might want to check out.

Some notables that I remember are the:

* Drake and Draco - high output (150+ lumens) with tiny batteries smaller than CR2! Very expensive.

* Lummi Wee and Raw - around 100 lumens from the Wee (or 200 Raw) using tiny < CR2 sized batteries. Actually fairly reasonable. Search and check out their website.
