Seeking "900 lumen" light with remote switch

I'm looking for a weapon-mounted 900 lumen light (as cheap as possible) that has a remote switch available, so I can weapon-mount it.

Any of the quad-core lights from http://www.DealExtreme.com would work, but the only one I can match a remote pressure switch to is the C2, and that's been out of stock for quite a while.

Any help is appreciated.

You can buy a light with pressure switch and have someone wire up a P7 or an MC-E instead driven at a higher current, but it'll be floody, not throwy. 200 should be fine for most things anyway, that's your Q5, R2.

I could wire my own ... I teach robotics classes that include soldering and PCB fabrication ... but my work is usually unreliable compared to mail-order flashlights when we get to shocks associated with weapons fire.

I don't know if I'd trust a Deal Xtreme flashlight to handle the shocks associated with gunfire. That's why people pay so much for Surefire lights. Some have shock isolation heads that can handle that kind of force. That kind of shock can destroy cheap lights. At 900 lumens, you may have to go with a bulb light instead of l.e.d. to even get close. As stated already, a Cree MC-E will only give floodlight and not throw. A 200+ lumen Q5 or R2 light will throw farther. Maybe a Lumapower MVP may come close to your brightness and toughness needs, but I don't know about the remote pressure switch. I think that light was designed for SWAT teams. The MVP is 700 lumens and costs $190 from Batteryjunction.com, not exactly cheap.

The biggest shock issue generally isn't the led, it's the batteries that can get damaged. Surefires need extra protection for the head because their standard light is incan which is very shock sensitive. That's where springs on both ends come into play. My Aurora AK-P7 has spring contacts on both ends so it should be relatively safe at least for low to mid calibers. Shotgun and large calibers would concern me some but not enough to not try it. But the great thing with DX lights is that nothing is glued so the tailcap can be disassembled and I'm sure the C2's pressure tailcap switch guts can be installed.
