Does anyone make a single AA that has 2-3 modes with no srobe? It must also have a pocket clip and a pushbutton tailcap that is partially covered so it won't accidentally activate in a pocket.

My second choice would be the same specs that takes a single cr123.

Thanks

There are a lot of lights that would meet your requirements. Do you have any other preferences? Price range?

"pushbutton tailcap that is partially"...ya got me thinking

Quark AA tacticals have 2 programmable modes (though they do have strobe and such and you would need to get a different tailcap to have a flush clicky).

Hmm so anyone know why they don't make a cap for the end of lots of the flashlights with flush clickies that is hinged like the cap for a scope on a rifle that maybe hides a trit (but mainly so that if the flashlight is being pocket carried it could not turn on).

If only the Itp A1-A2-A3 had a clicky they would be ideal for you, they are all twisties, much loved by many including me and probably bang for buck not many others really beat them.

A couple that spring to mind: Jetbeam Jet-1 Pro (Three programmable outputs) or RRT-0, Nitecore D10 (Original ramping UI; they pop up on the marketplace fairly often).

For CR123s, lots of Surefire models: E1L, E1B, L1...

+1 JetBeam Jet 1 Pro. Flush tailcap, 3 levels that are set by the user, disco modes are there but you only see them if you want, and it rocks on a 14500.

Jet 1 !
before that it was LumaPower ConneXion (orig & new)

Sounds like the Jet-I Pro is a good suggestion, also the Jetbeam RRT-0.

With the 1xcr123 RRT-0 you can get the extender tube and use AA and 14500 as well but it's pretty long for a AA light while using the extender. I would consider the RRT-0 over the Jet-I if you like the output selector ring better as your preferred UI vs. the programmable 3 mode reverse clicky of the Jet-I Pro.

Either way you would get a really good light.

The new Jetbeam BK135 has 3 separately programmable modes (same system as Jet-I Pro), tail-standable clicky.

It's AA though...

Can the Jet beam be programmed with just variable brightness settings and without any type of strobe?

The Eagletac looks promising too , but 60-70 dollars each is rather steep. Is there anything else out there. It seems like a silmple concept that shouldn't be that expensive

5Sport... while the Jet I Pro is an awesome light... it's a thrower. I don't use mine as a carry light because for the most part I find a wider, softer beam much more useful for my every day needs. Of course, if you need a thrower for most of your use, then it would be a good choice.

I was recently advised about the Zebralight SC50+. You should check that out! Very nice in all regards.
