looking for the smallest aa light to use in the keychain.
at the moment i have a aaa, but i'd like to go to AA to have additional power and runtime.
I dont really mind the emitter or driver as i'll replace them as soon as i get it, just needs to be very compact between 18-19mm thick and relatively good machining (romisen kind of quality) any ideas guys?

thanks.

For AAA with power, try checking Fenix L0D (with 10440) and LiteFlux LF2X.

AA is difficult to find very small. The smallest one I known i Zebralight H50, next step up is Fenix L1T/L1D and Nitecode Defender Infinity. Olight T15 is a bit longer.
A new AA light, I am looking forward to is LiteFlux LF5XT, I will know more about it in a week or two.
Of these only the H50 is 18-19 mm, the other is 21-22 mm.

Best 1 AA Battery LED flashlight?

Which is the best 1 AA Battery LED flashlight?

Re: Best 1 AA Battery LED flashlight?

Fenix L1D - NDI Infinity - LiteFlux LFX5T those are the top 3 choices i see ,each one has got different UI "user interface" that you have to decide which you like best and factor the runtimes and output you want to live with ..all pretty high output

Re: Best 1 AA Battery LED flashlight?

As a general flashlight for travel and camping.

Want a balance of lumens and battery life.

I am actually thinking of Fenix L1D premium version which has more than 100 lumens.

Is it a good buy? Or, are there better ones? Thanks.

I think you picked a good one for general usage for travel and camping. The L1D in general has slightly better run times compared an NDI or a JetBeam Jet-I Pro IBS. If you're planning to stick with just AAs and not 14500 (rechargeable lithium in the size of an AA), the L1D is probably your best bet especially if this is your first serious flashlight. The JetBeam or and NDI's UI will be a little bit more to learn........

Also, if you want even longer run time, get the L2D.

Re: Best 1 AA Battery LED flashlight?

It's like asking what's the best CAR. Depends on where you're going to drive it :)

The L1D a great choice for most applications.

I like the looks of the Olight 2008 T15

The LumaPower M3 transformer is worth a look if you want to dive into some various configurations all within the same light.

Re: Best 1 AA Battery LED flashlight?

Depends on your uses.

For general use, the L1D-CE Q5 is a good choice(turbo is around 80 lumen out the front), so is the L1T V2.0. You can also get 2 AA bodies for more output and runtime. 8% off coupon at Fenix Store is "CPF8".

Re: Best 1 AA Battery LED flashlight?

I'm merging this thread with another one that covers exactly the same topic. Both these threads were started today.

Would members please note that it is very counter-productive to start new threads unnecessarily.

Please check to see if there is an existing thread on the topic before starting a new one.

In a few words, the JETBeam IBS lights are the brightest, Fenix L1D is the most efficient, and the NDI has the best UI.
The LF5XT was just released and only one review is out that I know of, on light-reviews.com. It is certainly the most versatile, and may be the "best" yet.

Sorry guys, but this thread is not the place to discuss about what you consider to be the BEST AA light, but my original intention of this thread is for the SMALLEST light.
Please only continue the discussion on AA lights and their SIZE.

thanks all for understanding and helping me find my small light!
