Ok so this may be old news to some of you, but I ran into this today and was pretty impressed, so much so that I am trying to decide whether I can justify spending the $50 bucks (about $30 usd) to go down a grab it.

What it is is a regular looking baseball cap, black with a brass buckle at the back. Pretty notmal, except that on the peak there is a solar panel (looks a little geeky but not too bad), and on the underside iof the cap is two leds mounted in rubber and a big rubber button. The leds face down and out, the solar panel soaks up power during the day, it gets stored in an internal battery (I guess) and when you turn it on you get light, enough to read a book, cook when camping, see a little way, certainly not enough for a caving light or anything like that but rather handy.
From a quick look around it seems there are some options bright (2 hours) dim (24 hours) sos and party? It seesm to come in a variety of colours and shapes, some with mesh for running etc etc.

It is supposed to be waterproof and dustrproof, have 100,000 hours of led etc. I have no idea of lumens lux, beam etcetc. There is a website 2clight.com. Now this may be old hat (pun intended) to a lot of you but I thought it was pretty cool and at least you gals and guys would understand my enthusiesm (sure as hell my wife will not...).
