Surefire 6P and 6P LED interior finish

Why does the Surefire 6P and Surefire 6P LED have different interior finishes?
I really like the Surefire 6P interior finish over the Surefire 6P LED.

I did use the search function and could not find any topics on this. I found a whole lot of other topics on the Surefire 6P!

Surefire switched over to a coating that doesn't have that gold tint. Shame because I liked that brass thread look a lot.

They switched chemical conversion coating processes from the gold to the clear because clear doesn't involve toxic hexavalent chromium and the gold does.
