I am interested in throwing my hat (back) into the e series ring and am interested in two lights that offer a wider range of flexibility. Here is what I'd like to ultimately have - both an LED (2 stage) and an incandescent option for either 1 or 2 cell bodies, with rechargeable options.

The incandescent part is the easiest I believe since it is a matter of using the MN01 or MN02/03 bulb in the same head for either a 1 or 2 cell configuration (both of which would be primaries only as I understand it - or perhaps a 3v LifePo)

The LED solution is a bit more complex - or I need some help figuring it out - as I believe the KX2 head will work with a 2 cell body using primaries, 2xRCR123 3.7v or 1x17670 (assuming the body has been bored or otherwise fits). This has a lot of two cell options but I can't seem to find if a KX2 head will work on a E1 body - I fear not since it appears to go to 9v but that suggests it may work on one RCR123 but not for very long as the voltage will drop below 3.7 or so quickly. But I may have this wrong.

It would be cool to be able to buy an E1e and an E2L (KX2 dual mode head) and with just the addition of an MN02 bulb have basically incandescent with 1 or 2 cells, and LED with one or two cells, which is a lot of flexibility. If the KX1 handles the voltage of an RCR123 I suppose the other option would be to use a KX1 on a E2 body but with a 17670...

Anyway - the goal is obviously to get the most flexibility with the least outlay - and relatively speaking I'm more of an LED guy but given that I don't have a decent incandescent anymore, and there are some times when a hotwire is nice, to be able to easily convert an existing body for incandescent when I want to use it would be a plus.

This Surefire lego stuff is interesting, if a bit byzantine at times (given Surefires reluctance to issue anything approaching official specs for a lot of their components other than you can use it with the specified number of primaries...).

I have a KX2 head that I am running on a 1 cell body with an RCR123 or a 17500 in a custom body. It works fine on one rechargeable battery. I haven't tried it but people here have reported problems using 2 RCR123 batteries with the KX2 head or 1 RCR123 battery with a KX1 head.

If you have some money to spare, I would highly recommend you ask milkyspit to build you a Creemator head.

bright as heck!

you need a KL1 head that goes from around 3v to 9v, problem is, its discontinued.

I have a couple modded with a seoul USWOH and a reflector, it goes into around 500mA, from plain sight compared to my other lights it should be around 90 lumens. the emitter swap is really easy to acomplish once you open the head.

i could trade one i guess if you are interested?
