I got my Backup and really like it a lot. Problem is, I put a rechargeable 3.7 in it and the thing goes to about half the lumens on high and then pulses. Has anyone else tried this and if so, where do I get rechargeable 3.0's.

I use Lighthound 3V Ultrafire rechargeables in my L1.

Devil's Advocate here... :naughty:

OK, I know we all like to use "free" power (rechargeables) for our lights, and I do too. BUT...

Most, if not all, of us like to keep a stash of CR123's for use as backup power for when the house power goes down and we can't recharge.
My personal stash size is generally kept around 50 to 60 of the CR123's.

The thing is, these stash batteries need to be rotated so that we always have fresh stock (despite of the claim of 10 years shelf life).
So while I often use 18650 rechargeables in my two-cell lights, I always use CR123's in all my single cell lights for the purpose of slowly and gradually using up my stash so that it can be restocked once in a while.
I rotate the use of my single cell CR123 lights (E1L, L1, E1B), but I use them often. Even then, I might have to replace one cell in the three about every six weeks.

So anyway, instead of messing with RCR123's and their lesser runtimes compared to primary CR123's, why not use your single cell lights as an excuse to "rotate your stock"?

Just giving another perspective... ;)

if you really need rechargeble 3.0v 123 try your local Radioshack or batteries plus store 2 batteries and charger for 30 bucks

I talked about this in one of the early E1B threads. You'll see the flickering with 3.7 volt RCR123s. I tried one of those radioshack brand batteries...3.0 volts...and the flickering does not happen in HIGH mode, but it does happen when you put it in LOW. Others have mentioned this with other 3.0 v batteries. I guess the problem is that although the batteries say 3.0 or 3.7 v, they're usually a bit higher off the charger.

My E1B flicker when the 3V rechargeable freshly come out of charger. The flicker i only noticeable on low mode. I ran the battery on high for 1 minute, that is enough to get the voltage down and the flicker went away.
