I'd there a reference anywhere that shows which LED's Surefire has used per model over the years? Thanks..

Unfortunately, not to my knowledge.

For many years, SF was rather cagey about that.

Of course, modders would disassemble / repair / upgrade these quite often on CPF, so it was not as if that info was impossible to find.

But if you are referring to a comprehensive published organized list, no, I don't think so.

They have always used the current brand of emitters during periods of those companies heyday. Luxeon, Soeul, CREE and Nichia at times. Often they were tweaked to SureFire specs. But like Archi said, there is nothing definitive written about which 'model' were used at what time or which light.

Now in the really early days of SureFire LED days PK's brother worked with Peter Gransee to develop the earliest of the early SureFire LED lights. PK's brother was an engineer at Motorola and Peter owned ARC Flashlights. PK wanted less green. Peter wanted less blue. If I recall it was Soeul that supplied the parts that were developed in a Motorola lab. The second gen P60L was the product they concocted, complete with the first thermal step down.
