I've spent a few hours playing with this drop-in now, and I like it. I've posted a comparison with the only drop-in competition I know of here:

The Terralux is a good bit heavier than the EL drop-in. As I suspected, it has a solid plug heat sink under than PCB, and it apparently makes good thermal contact with the MAG body, because I've noticed very little heat in the short runs I've given it so far.

I'm gonna keep it, and I may order another.

Looks like they did a nice job with the heatsink, and nicely threading onto the tower.

I wish they had little reflectors and more spill, even an option to remove the reflectors. It would make a great work-light.

Are the optics glued, or could some modding be done there??
