HDSRB Run #2 Update!
I'm excited to announce that machining for the heads is complete and they are being sent for anodizing next week!
We were able to get a custom run of windows (lenses) made at the appropriate diameter in UCL4, which will save the machinist a lot of production time. The first run windows were ground down to the appropriate diameter and took a lot of extra time. The run#2 windows are about .5mm thicker. Shouldn't have much practical effect on anything but I'm just letting everyone know there's a slight difference between runs. The extra thickness is accommodated in the bezel machining so as long as you use a window and bezel from the same run you can attach any head to it.
So anyway, custom windows are in production now and it's looking like everything is lining up to be complete on schedule this run. I'm still not making promises but I'm very optimistic.
I've had a few requests for trit bezels and I'm considering making a handful. Theyre not designed yet so I don't have pricing, but I want to see if you guys will be interested. I assume they they will likely be priced similarly to the Your little cnc shop aftermarket trit bezels that @emarkd organized. Leave a comment if you're interested so I can make that decision.
As a heads up, I'll start sending out the invoices for the balance soon, maybe in a week or two. The plan was to be paid in full before reflectors go into production but they're already in production (surprise!)
I likely won't be ready to charge for trit bezels at that time of invoicing (if they're going to be made), or any other optional accessories (I have a neat idea I think everyone will like) so if those little side quests end up successful you'll have a chance to buy them later, hopefully before shipping.
